The sun "kills" bottled water

Sun and bottled don't go together. High temperatures deteriorate the packaging by transferring toxins into the water.

I don't drink bottled because I can't be sure under what conditions the bottle has been kept," says NEA professor of Food Microbiology at the Department of Food Science and Technology of the Agricultural University of Athens and member of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) Mr. He adds that the health risks when a bottle of bottled water is exposed to high temperatures are proven. "When a bottle of bottled water is constantly exposed to the sun it clearly becomes a health risk. Because of the high temperatures, pathogenic microorganisms grow and multiply."

Greek consumers drink bottled water that is dangerous for their health, especially during the summer months. In thousands of outlets across Greece, bottles of bottled water are exposed to very high temperatures, under the sun, instead of being kept in shady places as required by safety standards.

Sun and bottled: The risk increases in summer!

Dangerous waters. In many kiosks the bottles are on the pavement, exposed to the sun and not in a shady place up to 18C, as required by safety standards.

Conditions that can alter water quality and cause health problems.
